Taxation Information

Your property taxes include a Municipal Tax, an Education Tax  and a Seniors Foundation Tax.  The Education Tax and Seniors Foundation Tax are set by the Government of Alberta, collected by the Town of Bon Accord and then remitted directly to the province.  For additional information on Education Property Tax visit the Government of Alberta website.

The Combined Assessment and Property Tax Notice is mailed at the end of April each year.  Taxes are due and payable by June 30.

We offer a Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) that allows property owners to pay their property taxes in month installments rather than a single payment, making the payment of taxes more manageable.  Residents must apply by January 15 to be considered for the current year taxes.  If you purchase a new home after this date and wish to take part in the TIPP's program please contact the Town Office at 780-921-3550 for additional information.
