Economic Development

Since 2012, the Town of Bon Accord has embarked on an ambitious plan to strategically build awareness of the community to foster interest in business attraction and commercial and residential development to the municipality.

Having now developed branding and marketing design for the Town through, primarily, tourism development; Economic Development is working on attracting commercial and residential  growth and interest through an awareness of the many features of the communities quality of life through strategic means such as attaining an International Dark Sky designation, events showcasing Bon Accord as a community and developing partnerships with other levels of government and other business and community organizations.

The Town is looking to attract new development, residents and businesses to Bon Accord who want to be a part of this unique and great community.

Within 20 minutes of Edmonton,  15 minutes of Alberta's Industrial Heartland and located in the heart of Sturgeon County, the Town offers a great location to become its newest resident or newest product or service business to many industries in the area.

And to top that off, an internationally recognized night sky and a great place to raise a family or live in a friendly rural community minutes from a city with over a million people.

A Message from
the Mayor of Bon Accord

I believe that the Town of Bon Accord is one of Alberta's and Canada's best communities to call home. We have a friendly and proactive Council. We are open to business proposals and new ventures. Council is actively pursuing growth to enhance our local economy and to provide opportunities for our residents.

We have committed to the development and implementation of an Economic Development Strategy, "Building for a Prosperous Tomorrow!" This is not a strategy for growth for its own sake. Instead, this strategy reviews the growth opportunities facing us and the reasons for them. For us the challenge lies in being prepared to meet these opportunities in a sustainable manner. This preparation means ensuring policies and actions are in place that allows our economy to develop in ways that serve our citizens and business communities today and into the future. It is the role of our economic development strategy to outline how to move forward so success in one area can support progress in others.

On behalf of our community and its fine citizens, I welcome you to explore how we can partner in your success.
